On the New York stock exchange share prices started going down and on Tuesday October 29, 1929 known as black Tuesday worried investors started to sell. This started a panic and share prices started going down. It turned into a chain reaction. People lost their money, couldn't pay their bills and people who owned money couldn't collect. Companies started laying off workers and some closed their doors for good. Unemployment rose. Many countries in the end threw up trade barriers, including tariffs on imports. As a result international trade declined and even more people lost their jobs. This happened from 1929 to 1939. My opinion on this is that it's terrible for the people that lost everything and some of them didn't deserve it.
NAFTA ( North American Free Trade Agreement ) is a an agreement between the U.S, Canada and Mexico which elimated trade duties. It went into effect in 1989. NAFTA which was the world's largest trade zone at the time, immediately elimated half the trade barriers between the 3 countries. People for and against this agreement expressed strong views on the agreement. During the period, more than 7000 manufacturing jobs shifted out of Canada to Mexico. My opinion on this is that I think it's a great idea because it created thousands of high paying jobs. raised living standards in the 3 countries, and makes it easier to trade things between places.
Environmental Impact On Shipbuilding
A shipyard in South Korea is currently the largest in the world covering 720 hectares. Larger areas used for ships increases the potential of pollution. Many chemicals used like coatings and paints contain toxic materials that get to the environment. Also shipyards make lots of demands on electricity and water supply and generate large amounts of solid and toxic waste. My opinion on this well we need to make ships for different purposes. Such as taking goods across the ocean and taking people. So if you need to make ships then I guess you should make them, but it's sad that it hurts the environment that much. I think they should find more environmental friendly ways to make them.

Global Climate Change
The greenhouse effect contributes to global climate change with small but steady changes in the average temperatures around the world. It's increasing the risk of drought and evaporation of water from lakes and rivers. Scientists believe that the greenhouse gases already in the atmosphere will cause global temperatures to rise by an average of 0.5% till at least 2025. Governments, Businesses and scientists are joining forces to meet and create a difference regarding climate change. My opinion on this is that every country in the world should do their part to help. The little steps that I do personally are recycling and not littering. We should do this for ourselves now and for future generations.
